Why printing is so economical at quantity one
With traditional processes most costs arise before the first chip: tooling, fixturing, programming. For a one-off that single part carries all the cost. In printing that preparation hardly exists.
That is why the price per part is almost the same at small quantities. One part costs about as much as one of ten.
Still pay attention to the material. The cheapest filament is rarely right for a part that has to last.
