3D printing for industrial designers
Design happens in loops. You need models that arrive fast, feel right and show honestly whether the idea works. We print design models and functional prototypes and keep later production in mind.
Iterations in a few working days
How we support designers
From the first form study to the product in small series.
Form studies
Several variants in parallel to compare.
Ergonomics and feel
Check handles and controls in the hand.
Functional prototypes
Test mechanisms, clips and assembly.
Small series for design products
Lamps, accessories and housings in small runs.
Suitable materials
PLA and PETG for models, PA12 and ASA for robust parts, TPU for soft elements.
- PLAFast, affordable prototyping and visual parts.
- PETGTough, food-safe-capable everyday workhorse.
- ASAThe outdoor specialist - ABS mechanics with true UV stability.
- PA12Tough, low-friction nylon for functional mechanical parts.
- TPUFlexible thermoplastic polyurethane - Shore 95A.
- PLA-CFCarbon-filled PLA - dimensionally stable visual prototypes.
What we should know for design projects
- 01Whether it is about looks, function or both.
- 02Visible faces where no support marks are allowed.
- 03Desired colour and surface appearance.
- 04How the product will be made later.
Designing with production in mind
A beautiful model is quick to print. Harder is a product that looks and performs the same in series. We give designers early feedback on where details become problematic in print, such as very thin webs, long overhangs or visible faces on the support side.
Small changes are often enough: a chamfer instead of a sharp edge, a split in an inconspicuous place, a slightly different orientation. The design stays, production becomes more reliable.

Designer FAQ
- What surface is possible in FDM?
- Fine layers give an even, slightly textured surface. For smooth visible faces we sand and prime.
- Can I avoid support marks on visible faces?
- Usually yes, through orientation. Mark the visible faces and we plan accordingly.
- What colours are available?
- Several standard colours depending on material. Special colours are possible via painting.
- Do you advise on series production?
- Yes. We tell you whether the product stays economical in print or whether another process makes more sense.

3D Printing or CNC Machining: How to Decide Per Part
The decision is rarely about the process. It is about geometry, tolerance and quantity.
Post-processing FDM parts: from print to visible part
FDM parts come off the machine with visible layers. For many functional parts that does not matter, for visible parts it does. What sanding, fillers and paint can achieve, and where the limits are.
Using rapid prototyping properly: three rounds instead of ten
Most projects do not need ten prototype rounds. They need three, where each round answers one clear question.
