Covers and guards made to measure
Covers protect equipment from dust, contact and damage. We print them contoured to your device or machine, as one-offs, spares or small series.
Large? We split and join
Typical covers
From a small cap to a split hood.
Sensor hoods
Protection for sensors and cameras in plants.
Device lids
Lids and flaps for devices and housings.
Bezels
Bezels for control panels and displays.
Touch guards
Covers for terminals and moving parts.
Suitable materials
ASA outdoors, PC for heat and impact, PC FR when flame retardance is required.
- ASAThe outdoor specialist - ABS mechanics with true UV stability.
- PCPolycarbonate - high impact, high heat, transparent option.
- PA12Tough, low-friction nylon for functional mechanical parts.
- PETGTough, food-safe-capable everyday workhorse.
- PC FR UL94Flame-retardant polycarbonate with UL94 V-0 rating.
- ABSClassic engineering ABS - strong, affordable, easy to finish.

- 02Fixing: screws, clips or magnets.
- 03Whether the cover needs to seal.
- 04Visible side and desired colour.
Designing covers correctly
Large flat covers tend to warp in print. Ribs on the inside and a slight curvature make the surface stiffer and flatter without using more material.
Screw points get brass threaded inserts. That way the cover can be opened often without stripping the thread.
Send us the model or the old part. We check walls and fixings before printing.

Cover FAQ
- How large can a cover be?
- Up to about 250 mm in one piece. Larger hoods are split and joined with screws or bonding.
- Can clips be printed on directly?
- Yes, printed snap tabs work well in PA12 or PETG. For frequent opening we recommend PA12.
- Are transparent covers available?
- In FDM only translucent, not clear. For windows we combine with an inserted pane.
- How fast can I get a replacement cover?
- With CAD data often 2 to 4 working days, with reconstruction a bit longer.
