3D printing for hardware startups
A hardware startup has to show quickly that the product works without sinking the budget into tooling. We make prototypes and first series and help make the design production ready.

How we support startups
From the first sample to the first hundred customers.
First prototypes
Fast iterations until the design is right.
Demo and investor units
Clean units for pitch and demo.
Pilot customers
Small quantities for the first users.
Design for manufacturing
Advice so the jump to production works.
Suitable materials
Materials that hold up in everyday use and stay consistent at larger volumes.
- PETGTough, food-safe-capable everyday workhorse.
- PA12Tough, low-friction nylon for functional mechanical parts.
- ASAThe outdoor specialist - ABS mechanics with true UV stability.
- PCPolycarbonate - high impact, high heat, transparent option.
- TPUFlexible thermoplastic polyurethane - Shore 95A.
What helps us with startups
- 01Where the product stands: idea, prototype or pilot.
- 02Target volume over the next 12 months.
- 03Which parts are still changing.
- 04Budget range, so we can suggest suitable materials.
Tooling cost only once the market is proven
Many hardware startups invest in injection moulds too early. If the design changes afterwards, the money is gone. 3D printing lets you work with real customers before that decision is made.
What matters is thinking about manufacturing from the start. Even wall thickness, draft angles and sensible splits help in print and later in the tool.
We support you honestly on this. If a tool is worth it, we say so.

Startup FAQ
- We only have a sketch. Is that enough?
- For printing we need a 3D model. If you do not have one, we can help with reconstruction and design or refer you to designers.
- Is printed hardware sellable?
- For many products yes, especially at small volumes. We tell you openly if surface or strength is not enough for your product.
- How fast can we iterate?
- New versions are often with you within a few working days.
- Are there startup terms?
- Talk to us. For recurring orders we usually find a fair arrangement.

Using rapid prototyping properly: three rounds instead of ten
Most projects do not need ten prototype rounds. They need three, where each round answers one clear question.

Most delays in contract manufacturing do not happen at the machine, they happen in the data handover. Four pieces of information prevent almost every query.
